The main objectives of National Service Scheme (NSS) are:
understand the community in which they work
understand themselves in relation to their community
identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving
develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
utilise their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems
develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities
gain skills in mobilising community participation
acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes
develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and
practise national integration and social harmony
Awareness Program on Drug Abuse Prevention
A One Day Awareness Program on Drug Abuse Prevention in order to sensitize 100 students was jointly organized by National Institute of Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India and KLE College of Pharmacy, Bangalore at Sharadha Sabangana, S.Nijalingappa College Campus, Bangalore on 25.10.2019. Dr.Jinendra Khanagavi, IPS Officer was the Chief Guest and Dr.Ramesh G.H – Guest of Honour.
Seven Days University Level Swachhata Camp
Seven Days University Level Swachhata Camp for 100 NSS Volunteers was organized by NSS Unit-8, KLE College of Pharmacy, Bangalore from 07.01.2020 to 13.01.2020. Dr. S Sachhidanand was the Honorable Chief Guest for the Inaugural and Dr. Venkateshaiah BR, Medical Superintendent, KC General Hospital and our special invitee Dr. Ashwini Narasannavar were present during the Valedictory function. Seven days of Shramadaan activities at various places (in college, in and around Rajajinagar, Bus Depo, Health Care Centre, Village etc), Guest lectures on Swachhata, Activities on Swachhata, Rally to create public Awareness etc were done during the seven days camp. Whole village Kumbarahalli was converted to Plastic free and declared by gram Panchayath.
